A Time For Reflection

A time for reflection; thrust upon me by an upcoming birthday. I have the stories, some already on paper (computer) some still in my mind. I’ve tried a number of ways to bring them from my memory bank to a written state. Not completely successful, but as a work in progress, something to keep me off the streets.

A really dangerous lack of computer skills keeps me from blending many photos with the stories, but I’ll keep on keepin’ on.

Without further ado, here’s another episode or vignette on life through the lens of an extremely mature woman, glad to be alive, hoping for many more years and stories to come.

A MEETING WITH DESTINY, THE CHARLOTTE AND GINO VERSION

A love affair that began a year earlier shaped the next 55 years of my life. As is often the case, little events have significant consequences. In my case, the beginning of my adulthood started in the most innocuous way, as a young, really young 21-year-old student nurse. I was about to begin my last year of nurses’ training. We called the three years of schooling with a significant amount of indentured servitude thrown in “practicum.”
